Bidding in Block's Marble Auctions/LiveAuctioneers Hybrid Format

BIDDING IN ONLINE AUCTIONS

Live online marble auction are held on the Block's Marble Auctions platform.

There are two stages to a live online auction.

A live online auction consists of two distinct sessions: the "absentee" session and the "live" session. The "live" session of the online auction begins at a specified time. In our case it is 4PM NYC time on auction day.

Prior to the "live" session you can leave absentee bids in either platform: Block's Marble Auctions. The platform will take the absentee bids, as you place them and update the current high bidder and current high bid for each lot. The current high bid works just like Ebay. The current high bid is one bid increment over the maximum bid left by the underbidder. Absentee bidding closes when the lot comes up for "live" auction.

Once the "live" session starts, each lot comes up in sequential order. There is a virtual auction room running on the auction platform. The auction starts with Lot 1. The absentee bidding on that lot is locked and the absentee bid in the Block's Marble Auction virtual room is the high absentee bidder on that platform. The bidding starts at one bid increment over this current absentee bid.  Bidding continues until no one else bids. The absentee bidder's bid is bid by the auctioneer until he reaches the absentee's max (assuming live bidders are bidding against him). After the lot is closed, the next lot comes up..

After the last lot ends, the auction is closed. We send email invoices out the day after the auction.
